Summers Driving School LLC is licensed by the State of North Carolina, Division of Motor Vehicles to provide the classroom and behind-the-wheel pre-licensing classes required by the state of North Carolina for any new driver between the ages of 14 1/2 (14 years 6 months) and their 18th birthday. 

Interactive Classes

Our classroom activities focus on ensuring the students are able to make connections between what they are learning in the classroom and how it applies to routes they might typically drive. We've heard teens complain about how boring their driver's education class was and while driver's education isn't always the most exciting information, we know keeping students' attention is important. Our interactive class is designed to keep the students as engaged as possible and invested in being a SAFE driver. We do NOT spend all 30 hours simply lecturing or reading from the book, nor do we hand them practice tests to take over and over until they have memorized the potential questions and answers. 

Individualized Behind-the-Wheel Driving Routes

During behind-the-wheel driving, students have the opportunity to drive to and from locations that will be common routes for them once they are licensed drivers. Whether it's from school to home or work, home to church, or even to the local grocery store, our behind-the-wheel hours are individualized to the student's need.  We can show them how to manage a trip through a fast food drive-thru, how to pump gas, or even how to use a parking garage. 

In-person classes are currently held in Erwin, Spring Lake & Sanford

Student may choose to complete the entire 36-hour course with our team or may choose just the 30-hour classroom or 6-hour behind the wheel driving time, depending on preference or needs.  Registration can be done online using our convenient registration form or calling us at 910-751-1602. You may also email us to request a registration packet be emailed to you, at summersdrivingschool@gmail.com. Once you receive your contract, please call if you have any questions. We will send you a link via Docusign so the contract can easily be signed online and returned to us in just minutes.

Summers Driving School LLC also offers adult driver education classes for new adult drivers 18+ years of age at select times throughout the year. A valid adult permit or license is required for behind-the-wheel driving for anyone 18 or older.
